White County 34, Livingston Academy 28

The Livingston Academy Wildcats used a furious comeback to make things interesting in Sparta on Friday, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a 34-7 deficit as they fell to White County by a final score of 34-28.

After Hunter Pope caught a touchdown pass to give the Warriors their biggest lead, Raven Carpenter found Nathan Carwile for the first of three fourth-quarter touchdown passes.

On the Wildcats’ next possession, a ball meant for another receiver was tipped and caught by Bryer Mosley for a 46-yard score to cut the lead down to 34-21.

After holding White County scoreless again, the Wildcats marched down the field in a drive that ended with a 12-yard strike from Carpenter to Jayden Lawrence that cut the lead down to 34-28. LA got the ball back with just under three-and-a-half minutes remaining, but Pope struck on defense with a fourth-down sack to end the game and clinch the win for White County.
