Dragons In Search For New Football Coach

At the start of January Derwin Wright, former head coach of York Institute football team, accepted the role as Director of Facilities and stepped down as head football coach.

Wright’s 16-year tenure as head coach saw the Dragons reach the playoffs nine times and most recently last season. York qualified for the playoffs in the last game of the season on the road against Cannon County with a 15 to 14 victory.

According to York’s athletic director Bruce Winningham, there is no time table on the coaching search to replace Wright.
