District 7-3A Tournament: Top Four Girls Teams on to the Semifinals

The second, third and fourth seeds on the girls’ side of the District 7-3A Tournament advanced to Friday’s semifinals with wins on Tuesday night, while clinching berths into the upcoming Region 4-3A Tournament.

Second-seeded Livingston Academy knocked out defending Class 2A State Champion, Macon County, 62-26, behind 12 points from Keaton Webb. The Lady Wildcats (23-5) will play White County in the semifinals, after the Warrioretts (22-6) beat sixth-seeded Stone Memorial, 67-36. Upperman also punched their ticket to the semifinals and the Region with the toughest match-up of the night. Brooklyn Crouch scored 17 points, as the Lady Bees (23-6) held off a determined Lady Tiger team, 41-33. DeKalb County (15-14) held a 27-22 lead in the third quarter, before Upperman closed out the game on a 19-6 run. The Lady Bees will meet top-seeded Cumberland County (16-10) in Friday’s semifinals.

The boys’ quarterfinal round games are scheduled for Wednesday night. Top-seeded Stone Memorial has a first-round bye.
