Friday Night Boys Hoops Recap: Warren County Earns Win Over Cookeville

Warren County 63, Cookeville 57

The Pioneers went on the road to Cookeville on Friday night, and they earned a tough district victory by a final score of 63-57.

C.J. Taylor led all scorers with 31 points for the Pioneers, while Dee Spates added 15 points.

Colin Ayers put up a solid showing in the loss, leading Cookeville with 22 points. Lucas Reeves and Windle Oakley each scored 10 points.

Cookeville will play at Rhea County on Tuesday, while Warren County will head to Sparta to take on White County.

Jackson County 52, Clarkrange 50

The Blue Devils defeated the Buffaloes in a district matchup by a final score of 52-50.

Ramon Cuevas led the way for the Blue Devils with a game-high 18 points, while Eli Burris added 12 points.

Anthony Cottle paced the Buffaloes with 17 points, and Haden Smith scored 15 points.

Jackson County will take on Monterey on Tuesday, while Clarkrange will play Cumberland County on Monday.

York Institute 62, DeKalb County 56

The York Dragons took down DeKalb County on Friday by a final score of 62-56.

Nic Smith scored 19 points to lead the the Dragons, while Jon Heddings scored 12 points. Riley Cooper added 11 points.

Evan Jones led DeKalb County with 15 points, and Brayden Antoniak finished with 10 points.

York will square off with Cannon County on Tuesday, while DeKalb will face Livingston Academy.

Clay County 74, Monterey 47

The Bulldogs maintained their undefeated district record with their 74-47 win over Monterey on Friday.

Grant Strong led all scorers with 32 points, while Jeff Spivey scored 17 points.

Cayden Jones led Monterey with 15 points, and LT Sullivan added 12 points.

The Wildcats will take on Jackson County on Tuesday, and Clay County will face Clarkrange.

Pickett County 70, Trousdale County 43

The Bobcats used a hot start to down Trousdale County on Friday by a final score of 70-43.

Zach Amonett led the way with a game-high 25 points, while Hunter Wattenbarger added a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double. Will Amonett and Caleb Lowhorn each scored 10 points.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Whitwell.

Upperman 65, Livingston Academy 39

The Bees battled back after falling behind by five points at the end of the first to defeat the Wildcats by a final score of 65-39.

A.J. Nash led Upperman with a game-high 15 points, while Jace McWilliams scored 13 points. Alex Rush and Collin Gore each added 12 points.

Matthew Sells and Isaac Story each led Livingston Academy with eight points.

LA will play Smith County on Saturday, and the Bees will take on the same team on Tuesday.

White County 60, Rhea County 42

The Warriors were without Grant Slatten on Friday night, but they still had enough firepower to take down Rhea County by a final score of 60-42.

The Paul brothers did a majority of the damage, as Tanner Paul finished with a game-high 26 points. Thomas Paul added 10.

The Warriors will be back in action on Tuesday at Stone Memorial.

Bledsoe County 67, Van Buren 58
