Wright: ‘Excited to Be Back’ at York Institute

After stepping away from the sidelines after the 2019 season to work in administration, Derwin Wright is returning to the classroom and the football in 2022 as the head coach of the York Institute Dragons. Wright, who served as Dragons’ head coach from 1997-2008, 2017-19, and on an interim basis in 2014, has won over 90 games and led York to nine playoff appearances in 16 total seasons on the sidelines.

Tom Duggin of UC Sports Nation spoke one-on-one with Coach Wright, who’s very excited to be back coaching York Institute football.
