A Leesburg man allegedly attempted to steal pie crust and pecans from Walmart a few days before Thanksgiving.
Walmart loss prevention staff witnessed 31-year-old Anthony Bobo skip-scanning items with a female companion around 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, according to a Leesburg Police Department case report.
Bobo paid for some items but not others by stacking them twice in his hand. He merely scanned the bottom item and placed both in shopping bags. The report states that loss prevention stopped him and his companion before they could leave the store.
According to the report, the staff recovered $18.96 in merchandise, which included a Banquet mega bowl, a Pillsbury double pack of pie dough, a snack container of praline pecans, a bag of small marshmallows, a pack of strong cheddar cheese, and a Keebler Graham pie crust.
Bobo received a misdemeanor ticket for retail theft, with a court date of December 10. He and his companion were then trespassed from the store.
