White County will try to finish a 10-0 regular season when it hosts Stone Memorial at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in Sparta. The Warriors are 9-0 and have already secured the No. 1 seed in Class 4A Region 4, so Friday’s result will not change their playoff position.

The TSSAA playoff possibilities page, updated Oct. 27, says White County “cannot finish lower than the #1 seed” and that Stone Memorial “is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.” The game is the last one on both teams’ regular-season schedules.

White County’s season in five numbers

  • 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the region, according to TSSAA standings updated Oct. 25.
  • 330 points scored, 114 allowed. That works out to about 36.7 points per game for the Warriors and 12.7 for their opponents.
  • 125-49 is the combined score of White County’s four region games.
  • 7 points was the margin in the 28-21 win at Cookeville on Sept. 4. It is the only game White County has won by single digits this season.
  • 11 state playoff appearances are listed on TSSAA’s school history page, most recently 2024 and 2025, with a 4-11 record in playoff games.

Six shared opponents, side by side

Stone Memorial, from Crossville, is 3-6 overall and 0-4 in the region. Three of those four region losses were by five points or fewer. The two teams have played six of the same opponents, and TSSAA’s schedule pages show how each fared.

Stone Memorial’s only win outside that group was 50-0 over Cumberland Co. Its other losses were to Coalfield (41-34) and Loudon (35-21).

Why a loss would not cost White County the top seed

TSSAA lists every combination of Friday’s region results, and White County is No. 1 in all eight. In the branches where Stone Memorial wins, TSSAA marks White County’s seed with an “H,” its code for a seed won on head-to-head results.

The other three seeds are still open. The Upperman-Macon Co. winner takes the No. 2 seed and the loser is No. 3. The DeKalb Co.-Livingston Academy winner takes No. 4.

Game 107: East Ridge or Signal Mountain comes to Sparta

On the 4A bracket, Region 4’s No. 1 seed plays Region 3’s No. 4 seed in Game 107 on Friday, Nov. 6. The bracket notes say the higher-seeded team hosts in the first and second rounds, so White County would play that game at home.

Region 3’s No. 4 seed will be East Ridge (7-2) or Signal Mountain (3-6), both from the Chattanooga area. Per TSSAA’s Oct. 27 update, it depends on two Region 3 games on Oct. 30. The Loudon-Red Bank game does not affect it.

The dates on the road to Chattanooga

  • Friday, Nov. 13 (Game 204): the Game 107 winner meets the Game 108 winner, Region 2’s No. 2 seed or Region 1’s No. 3 seed. The higher seed hosts.
  • Friday, Nov. 20 (Game 302): quarterfinals.
  • Friday, Nov. 27 (Game 401): semifinals.
  • Saturday, Dec. 5 (Game 501): the 4A state final in Chattanooga, listed by TSSAA at 11 a.m. local time.

Before any of that, the White County schedule lists Stone Memorial as a home region game on Friday, Oct. 30, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
