A 30-year-old woman was arrested Saturday evening after attempting to flee from police near the League City–Dickinson border, according to a report from Grizzy’s Hood News.

League City Police said the incident began around 6:40 p.m. when officers responded to a call about a suspicious person. One officer identified the woman as Megan Nichole Steele and discovered she had an outstanding warrant.

When approached, Steele tried to run but was quickly caught after a short foot chase through a nearby parking lot.

Officer Trevor Montero told KGTX 7 that Steele was charged with Fail to Identify Fugitive with Intent to Give False Information and Evading Arrest or Detention with a Previous Conviction. He noted that while Steele sustained minor scratches, no force was used during her arrest.

The incident gained widespread attention online after a bystander submitted video footage of the chase to Grizzy’s Hood News, capturing Steele sprinting through the lot before officers detained her.

Steele was booked into custody, though details about the warrant remain undisclosed.
