Chicago police have charged a woman accused of robbing three women at knifepoint—stabbing one of them—during a string of attacks in Albany Park this month.
Officers arrested 51-year-old Miriam Rivera, who now faces three felony counts of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, one felony count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and one felony count of unlawful restraint.
Police identified Rivera as the suspect who allegedly robbed a 42-year-old woman Thursday in the 4800 block of North Albany Avenue, just hours before her arrest.
Investigators also linked Rivera to two earlier armed robberies on Montrose Avenue. Police say she robbed a 68-year-old woman inside a business on Nov. 5 in the 3400 block of West Montrose. On Nov. 9, she allegedly stabbed and restrained a 50-year-old woman during a robbery inside a business in the 3200 block of West Montrose.
Rivera was scheduled to appear at a detention hearing on Saturday.
Police have not released additional details.
