Orange County, CA – A woman was taken into custody after police discovered more than $100,000 in stolen merchandise inside her Orange County home.
The Irvine Police Department identified the suspect as Ekaterina Zharkova, 40, of Lake Forest.
Investigators from the Irvine Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Retail Theft Unit, and private security partners had been looking into Zharkova for retail theft.
On August 13, officers arrested her outside her home. During a search of the residence, they reportedly recovered over $100,000 in stolen goods, including items from Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls.
Photos from the raid revealed piles of clothing, handbags, shoes, home goods, beauty products, and more.
Zharkova was booked on grand theft charges with a bail enhancement. The stolen merchandise was returned to the retailers, and police said one store had to rent a U-Haul truck to haul its property back.
No further details were released as the thefts remain under investigation.
