Savannah Harsha Phillips, 24, has been arrested after allegedly helping three men steal 12 cars from Hertz while employed as a security guard at a Florida airport car rental center.
According to Broward County court documents, Phillips reportedly used her position at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to help the men exit the Hertz garage without showing a driver’s license, pretending to scan the vehicles as they left. The scheme reportedly occurred in May 2025.
Investigators said Phillips knew the location of vehicle keys and the slowest times of operation, giving the thieves an opportunity to steal multiple cars, including Kia K4 sedans, Nissan Altimas, a Hyundai Sonata, a Toyota Corolla, and a Nissan Sentra.
Phillips, originally from Jamaica and living in Sunrise, Florida, was arrested at her home on August 26 and booked into the Paul Rein Detention Facility. She faces first-degree organized fraud, five counts of second-degree grand theft, and seven counts of third-degree grand theft.
At her arraignment, a judge ordered Phillips to prove that her $62,000 bail did not come from criminal proceeds.
Further investigation has linked some of the stolen vehicles to crimes in other states, including a black Kia K4 tied to Texas incidents and a white Toyota Corolla connected to crimes in Virginia.
