Villager Detained After Raiding Refrigerator At Man Friend’s Home

A villager was detained after raiding a refrigerator at a man friend’s home.

Janine Renee Rapka, 47, of the Village of Santo Domingo, went to a residence on Aloha Way on The Villages’ Historic Side on Friday afternoon, Nov. 7, and rang the doorbell, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The man who owns the house was asleep and did not answer the door. She rang the doorbell several more times before beating on the door.

The New Jersey native forced her way inside the screened-in patio. She opened the refrigerator and took a Gatorade. The male homeowner noticed Rapka and ordered her to leave. He threatened to contact law authorities since Rapka had previously made an uninvited presence at his home.

Another woman passed by and saw Rapka’s golf cart sitting outside. Rapka charged at the woman, striking her on the neck and collarbone “multiple times with closed fists,” according to the complaint. The attack occurred in the carport. The man instructed Rapka to cease attacking the second woman. That evidently enraged Rapka, who returned to the other woman and began swinging her fists at her. Rapka eventually escaped in a golf cart.

She was apprehended the next day and charged with burglary, assault or battery, and theft. She was brought into the Lake County Jail on a $76,000 bond.

Rapka was arrested in 2024 for driving drunk on Easter Sunday. While she was out on bond in the case, she was caught for another golf cart DUI. In 2023, she was also detained for drunk driving in The Villages.

Rapka was also arrested for drunk driving in New Jersey.
