Two Grayslake Teens Charged After Overnight Shooting, Deputies Say

Two teenagers are facing charges after an overnight shooting in unincorporated Grayslake, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 3:45 a.m. to the 18400 block of West Meander Drive after receiving multiple 911 calls about shots fired. When they arrived, they found bullet holes in a vehicle and two nearby homes.

Authorities soon located two individuals at the scene: 19-year-old Jabreon Bell and 18-year-old Sir Mark Hill, both of Grayslake. Initially, the pair claimed they had been targeted in a drive-by shooting. However, surveillance video revealed that both were armed, and Hill was seen firing several rounds, deputies said.

Sheriff’s detectives later searched Bell’s home and recovered two loaded handguns, including one with an extended magazine.

No injuries were reported.

Both Bell and Hill were arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm. They are scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office said it plans to file petitions to detain both suspects while they await trial.
