A lengthy investigation in Florida has resulted in the arrest of two individuals accused of elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation in a shocking case involving a vulnerable elderly victim.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office launched the investigation on July 16, 2025, after the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) received a complaint reporting physical abuse and neglect by the victim’s caretakers.
A second report filed in October heightened concerns about the victim’s physical and mental condition.
Victim Describes Horrific Treatment
During interviews with detectives, the victim shared disturbing details of her living conditions. She said she was denied food, prevented from moving freely inside her home, and forced to use the bathroom outdoors.
In another alarming account, the victim described being made to shower in a small outdoor tent using only a garden hose with cold water and no temperature control.
Detectives confirmed that the prolonged neglect caused severe harm. The victim suffered from a chronic, untreated wound that exposed internal tissue and bone, along with several other medical issues directly caused by the lack of care.
Fraudulent Property Transfer Uncovered
Investigators also uncovered financial exploitation. Detectives said 43-year-old Enrique Junior Navedo fraudulently transferred ownership of the victim’s home into his name using a Quit Claim Deed. The document appeared to be backdated and was reportedly filed more than a year after the alleged signing date.
Suspects Arrested and Charged
Both suspects were taken into custody:
-
Enrique Junior Navedo, 43
Charged with Fraud-Swindle-Obtain Property Over $50,000 and Abuse of an Elderly or Disabled Adult Without Great Bodily Harm. -
Loy Lynn La Pierre, 58
Charged with Abuse of an Elderly or Disabled Adult Without Great Bodily Harm.
Both are currently being held at the St. Lucie County Jail. Authorities have not released additional details about the victim’s current condition.
