BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — California Highway Patrol officers arrested three people on suspicion of driving under the influence during a DUI checkpoint Friday night in Bakersfield.
CHP conducted the checkpoint on Friday, December 19, 2025, and screened 172 vehicles during the operation.
Officers administered field sobriety tests to four drivers. Three of those drivers were arrested for suspected DUI. CHP also issued nine citations and impounded four vehicles.
In a social media post, CHP urged drivers to make safe choices during the holiday season, writing, “During this holiday season, choose wisely, never get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or drugs. You don’t want to spend holidays in jail, hospital, or the morgue.”
