A 65-year-old man from St. Petersburg is in jail facing serious charges after a young girl told her parents she had been sexually abused.
St. Petersburg Police detectives began investigating on November 30, immediately after the child, who is under 12, disclosed the abuse.
Police say the suspect, Lawrence Airdo, was known to the family.
Following the investigation, Airdo was arrested and charged with sexual battery on a child under 12 and lewd and lascivious molestation by an adult on a child under 12.
