SFPD Cracks Down on Illegal Dirt Bike Activity, Arrests Four, and Seizes Seven Vehicles

San Francisco police launched a citywide enforcement operation on Sunday that targeted illegal dirt bike activity. Officers seized six dirt bikes, an ATV, and arrested four suspects during the crackdown.

The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) said the operation responded to a surge in reckless stunt driving and off-road vehicle activity across the Bay Area. The Citywide Plainclothes Team, the Real-Time Investigation Center, the Drone as a First Responder program, and the Stunt Driving Response Unit all coordinated in the effort.

Officers used surveillance drones, Automated License Plate Readers, cameras, and ground surveillance to track riders and recover stolen vehicles. Police confirmed that four of the seized dirt bikes had been reported stolen from Yuba City and Atascadero. Two suspects face charges for possessing stolen motorcycles, while two others received citations for operating without licenses or registration.

“Anyone who engages in this illegal activity in San Francisco will be held accountable,” Interim Chief Paul Yep said in a statement. Police urged residents to report related incidents and submit anonymous tips by calling 1-415-575-4444 or texting TIP411 with the keyword SFPD.
