Sacramento police arrest suspect in downtown shooting that injured 2

Sacramento police arrested a suspect in a downtown shooting that injured two people, officials said Monday.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Andrew Jiminez of Apple Valley, was taken into custody Sunday by the California Highway Patrol in connection with a pursuit and firearm-related charges. He was booked into Placer County Jail.

Sacramento police are seeking a warrant for attempted murder in relation to the incident.

The shooting occurred early Sunday morning around 1:30 a.m. near 8th and K streets. When officers arrived, they found two injured victims, who were transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
