Police: Teen Charged In September Attempted Carjacking That Left Woman Seriously Injured

4-Year-Old Critically Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in South Sacramento

A 16-year-old has been detained and charged in connection with an attempted carjacking that critically injured a 34-year-old woman in September, police said.

A 16-year-old male suspect was apprehended on Wednesday in the 300 block of West 35th Street in Steger, Illinois.

He was identified as the person who shot and critically injured a 34-year-old woman during an attempted carjacking in the 6700 block of S. Cregier Avenue on September 7.

The offender has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, attempted carjacking, and aggravated unauthorized possession of a weapon.
