Police: Pompano Beach Woman Detained Again In Luxury Watch Theft Scheme Targeting Men Across Miami-dade

A 25-year-old Pompano Beach woman who was previously accused of drugging and robbing men in Miami-Dade County has been detained again, according to police.

Angelina Chenel Esty surrendered to Miami police on Wednesday in connection with a burglary at a Brickell apartment on August 9, according to the arrest report.

According to detectives, Esty and another lady met the victim and a companion at Miami’s Blackbird Ordinary bar before accompanying them to an apartment on Brickell Bay Drive in the early morning.

According to the complaint, the victim reported waking up to find his $20,000 Rolex watch, $4,000 in cash, and his friend’s replica Rolex stolen.

Investigators also found an unlawful $500 transaction on the friend’s Cash App account.

The investigation revealed that the victim felt drugged during the encounter and had limited recollection of the night.

Esty and her suspected accomplice were captured on surveillance footage at the bar, and the victim identified her in a photo lineup.

Police described Esty as a “known offender with prior arrests for similar bad date thefts.”

She faces charges of burglary in an occupied house and grand theft ranging from $20,000 to $100,000.

This is not Esty’s first arrest.

In May, she was charged in a string of identical crimes in Miami-Dade County, where victims reported meeting her at popular nightclubs and hotels, only to wake up with stolen Rolex watches, cash, and other valuables.

These cases included incidents at E11EVEN nightclub, Blackbird in Brickell, and the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach.

According to police, Esty and her accomplices engaged in a repeated strategy of meeting individuals in nightclubs, gaining access to private mansions or hotel rooms under false pretenses, and then drugging them before stealing luxury items.

Authorities claimed such incidents have become increasingly common in South Florida’s nightlife zones, often targeting tourists and professionals wearing high-end timepieces.

Esty was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
