Police Identified Man Found Dead From Gunshot Wounds In Southeast Portland

On Tuesday, police publicly identified the man who was shot and killed in Southeast Portland on Saturday.

Michael Pena-Tapia, 20, of Woodburn, was shot around 10 a.m. near Southeast 17th Avenue and Harold Street, according to a Portland Police Bureau statement.

When first responders got at the site, they discovered him dead on the sidewalk, and the medical examiner’s office later declared the death a homicide, according to authorities.

The person(s) who shot Pena-Tapia fled the scene before police arrived. Police have not reported any arrests in this case.
