Police were searching for a suspect Tuesday after a hooded man punched a woman in the face and attempted to rape her in Brooklyn last weekend.
NYPD footage appears to show the suspect’s face totally obscured as he walks down a street in Brownsville around the time of the attack on Sunday night.
Around 11:35 p.m., police spotted a 25-year-old woman near Watkins Street and Livonia Avenue. Police said he assaulted her.
He punched her in the face and attempted to remove her clothes before fleeing the scene, according to police.
The victim was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
The New York Police Department’s Brooklyn Special Victims Squad is conducting an investigation.
