Eduardo Parapar had been on the run for a week until deputies apprehended him on Tuesday in northwestern Florida, according to the Hialeah Police Department.
Parapar, 23, a former middle linebacker and wide receiver for Westland Hialeah High School’s football team, was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail on Wednesday.
A deputy spotted Parapar’s irregular driving and ordered him to halt. He came to a stop, lied to the deputy about his name, and attempted to flee. Police dogs were used in the search.
Santa Rosa County deputies apprehended and detained Parapar, eventually identifying him as the Hialeah fugitive who authorities had warned was an “armed and dangerous” burglary suspect.
In Santa Rosa, Parapar was charged with five counts: two counts of possessing a controlled substance (over marijuana and drugs without a prescription), possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest without violence, and presenting a fake name to law authorities. His bond was $7,000. He has an arrest warrant in Miami-Dade County.
