Two missing children, last seen near their foster home in California, were discovered in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

On Saturday, at about 3:20 p.m., LVMPD Fusion Watch saw a car near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road that was linked to a California Amber Alert issued two days prior.

The Amber Alert, issued on August 21, named the suspect as 30-year-old Jackeline Hernandez-Torres and the children as her 2-year-old son, Derek Alejandro Rodriguez-Hernandez, and her 10-year-old son, Jaden Hernandez.

On August 21, around 1:30 a.m., the brothers were last spotted leaving their foster care home in the 300 block of South Virgil Avenue in Los Angeles. According to LAPD, their real mother, Hernandez-Torres, was thought to have driven them from Virgil Avenue to the 1500 block of East 52nd Street.

Las Vegas Metro officers halted the vehicle and detained the passengers. Las Vegas police said the two children are now safe.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that it is cooperating with the Los Angeles Police Department while the investigation proceeds.
