Police said Crystal Lee tried to kill her spouse of just two months while armed with a gun, a knife, and a hunting knife.
Records show the Florida Department of Corrections last released Lee—who has felony convictions in Broward, Levy, and Marion counties—from prison about 24 years ago.
Miami police arrested Lee on Friday night at Northwest 17 Avenue and 57 Street in Model City. She is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
According to the arrest report, the domestic violence attack occurred around 8:35 p.m. Friday at an apartment near Northeast 62 Street and Fourth Court, in Miami’s Upper East Side neighborhood near Little Haiti.
The victim suffered stab wounds to both arms and was taken by Miami Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, police said.
Lee appeared in bond court on Saturday, where a judge ordered her to stay away from the victim and denied her bond.
On the same day, Miami-Dade prosecutors filed charges of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and battery. Lee’s pre-trial detention hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Aug. 20.
