Man Killed, Two Injured in Triple Shooting in West Baltimore

A Trenton man has been charged with fatally shooting his girlfriend and abandoning her body in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, authorities announced Monday.

Lamont Truitt, 36, faces charges including first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, first-degree carjacking, and related offenses in the killing of Alyssia Murphy, 32.

According to Mercer County officials, the shooting unfolded around 6 a.m. Sunday on Coolidge Avenue in Trenton. Murphy was sitting inside a silver Toyota Camry with a 25-year-old friend when Truitt approached, began arguing, and then opened fire.

Officials say Truitt carjacked the Camry and drove off. The 25-year-old woman managed to escape and was later found by police. She was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her leg.

Investigators said they also received a report of a woman who had been shot multiple times by a man fleeing in a silver sedan, but they were initially unable to locate the scene.

Hours later, police in Lower Makefield Township, Pennsylvania, discovered Murphy dead inside the Camry near East Ferry Road along the Delaware Canal.

Truitt turned himself in Sunday, officials said. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion to detain him pending trial.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact police.

Separate death investigation in Bucks County

Not far from where Murphy was found, Pennsylvania State Police responded to an unrelated death in Falls Township on Saturday.

Troopers say Robert Kowalski was discovered in ankle-deep water along the canal path in the 8000 block of Woodside Drive after a passerby alerted authorities. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday to determine his cause of death.
