A 30-year-old Florida man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly harassing Walmart employees while completely nude in the parking lot of a Lake City store, police said.
Rakime Triondre Johnson faces one count each of exposure of sexual organs and resisting an officer without violence following the bizarre 2:45 a.m. incident on October 8 at the Walmart along U.S. Highway 90.
According to the Lake City Police Department, officers responded to reports of a “suspicious person acting erratically” in the parking lot. Upon arrival, they learned that a naked man had been chasing employees before fleeing into a nearby wooded area.
Officers found Johnson on his hands and knees in the woods, appearing agitated, paranoid, and incoherent, according to a department press release.
Due to concerns for his safety, police restrained him for protection and called paramedics. Johnson was taken from the woods and transported to Lake City Medical Center for evaluation.
At first, Johnson was unable to provide identifying information, later giving his name as “Raheem.” After being medically cleared, a Rapid ID fingerprint scan at the Columbia County Detention Facility confirmed his true identity.
Police described Johnson as homeless, and court records show he has applied for indigent status. He is scheduled to be arraigned on October 14.
