A woman is recovering after the father of her children shot her while she was picking them up, Cincinnati police said.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. Thursday in the driveway of his Kearney Avenue home in Hartwell, according to police.
Court records state that after strapping the children into their car seats, the victim was about to get into the driver’s seat when he opened fire, hitting her in the right shoulder.
Police said she managed to drive away and call 911.
Police and court records say she drove herself to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she is being treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
District 4 officers arrested Elijah Moody on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence, according to criminal complaints.
He was booked into the Hamilton County Jail at 2:05 a.m. Friday and is set to make his first court appearance at 9 a.m.
