Mississippi Man Sentenced To 24 Years In Prison For Drug Trafficking

On Friday, October 17, 2025, a federal judge sentenced Afrika Roshawn Seals of Meridian, Mississippi, to 24.3 years in prison for running a large-scale drug organization in the Meridian area.

In 2022, Mississippi officials launched an inquiry into Seals, who is a high-ranking member of the Gangster Disciples street gang.

During the investigation, agents purchased about a pound of crack cocaine from Seals. In September 2023, agents executed search warrants, resulting in the recovery of kilograms of cocaine, six ounces of fentanyl, five guns, three stolen vehicles, and $84,411 in US currency.

Seals was arrested in July 2024 with an additional 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, around 1,500 counterfeit M30 (fentanyl) pills, two weapons, $88,237 in US currency, and more crack cocaine.

“This sentencing highlights the results of our continued partnerships and tireless work to take repeat offenders off the streets. Illegal drugs have no place in our communities, and we will continue working to keep them out of the hands of those who endanger our citizens.”
