Miami-Dade Woman Faces 11 Charges After Allegedly Targeting Neighbors

A 57-year-old woman was arrested and faces 11 criminal charges for allegedly vandalizing property and stealing from several neighbors, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Alina Corbato was taken into custody Friday morning near Southwest 78th Street and 55th Avenue. She appeared in bond court Monday following a weekend of hearings.

Deputies say Corbato was caught on surveillance video committing multiple acts of vandalism. Witnesses reported seeing her break rear windshield wipers off cars and use a knife to scratch off registration decals from license plates.

The arrest report also states that on July 31, Corbato stole a neighbor’s $3,000 bicycle from a shared storage room, damaged it, and later abandoned it near a dumpster.

Prosecutors filed charges Saturday, including:

  • One count of third-degree grand theft (felony)

  • Ten counts of criminal mischief (misdemeanor)

Corbato appeared in court Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Milton Hirsch assigned to preside over the case.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not yet disclosed a motive.
