Meth, Weed, and Warrants: Lakeland Felon’s Quick Hideout Leads to More Trouble

A wanted felon in Lakeland, Florida, is facing additional charges after deputies found him hiding in a shed with illegal drugs during a warrant arrest on Thursday evening.

Around 7 p.m., deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) arrived at a residence off Saddle Creek Road to locate Colby Roy Fudge, 33, who had an active felony warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

When officers reached the property, they found Fudge attempting to hide in a backyard shed. As deputies approached, he allegedly tossed a backpack deeper inside the structure in an effort to conceal it.

Fudge was quickly taken into custody, and deputies retrieved the backpack. Inside, they discovered bags of marijuana and methamphetamine, according to investigators.

New Charges Filed

In addition to the original felony warrant, Fudge was booked into the Sheriff’s Processing Center and now faces multiple new charges, including:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine

  • Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  • Resisting Without Violence

  • Tampering with Evidence

Authorities noted that Fudge has a lengthy criminal record, including prior arrests for burglary, theft, criminal mischief, weapons violations, narcotics offenses, and criminal traffic violations.
