Authorities are searching for Jeremy D. Hendricks, a 37-year-old inmate who escaped from a Los Angeles County community reentry program Saturday morning.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) said Hendricks tampered with his ankle monitor and walked away from the Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP) facility near 37th Street and Hill Street around 11:15 a.m. on September 27.
Hendricks is described as 5’10”, 185 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
Officials launched an emergency count, confirmed his absence, and notified law enforcement agencies. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or contact CDCR Special Agent Abraham Villasenor at 760-936-1851.
Hendricks is serving a 20-year sentence handed down in 2012 for assault with a semiautomatic firearm with an enhancement for firearm use, and second-degree robbery as a second striker. He had been housed at the MCRP since August 13, 2025.
The MCRP helps eligible inmates with two years or less left on their sentences transition back into the community with education, job, and family support. CDCR notes that 99% of escapees from its facilities since 1977 have been recaptured.
