A 47-year-old man was sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to a drug trafficking operation.
On February 20, Bengi Knox pleaded guilty to conspiring with his co-defendants, Kevin Lee Simon, Jr., and Malik Marvin Lloyd, to distribute phencyclidine. The system was in effect in Maryland from at least December 2022 to March 2023.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO), Knox and Lloyd planned to meet in Washington, D.C., on January 5, 2023, and exchanged PCP before meeting the next day to exchange payments.
On February 7, 2023, Simon informed Knox about a new source for the medicine. During a phone conversation with Knox, Simon mentioned that the new source of supplies was referred to as “super crunch.”
Simon stated that he would sell the drug unchanged for $13,500, which is approximately $1,000 higher than the market price for the drug with some cutting agent.
On March 29, 2023, law officials raided Knox’s home and vehicle in White Plains, recovering 60.992 grams of PCP, 23.68 grams of cocaine, and 0.95 grams of heroin and fentanyl.
A Glock Model 43 9mm pistol, ammunition, and more than $2,250 were also seized.
Simon was sentenced to 12 years in jail on May 29, while Lloyd received an eight-year sentence on June 5.
Knox was the last to be sentenced, receiving nine years in jail, followed by four years of supervised release.
