A New York man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to cocaine trafficking in Wilkes-Barre.
Jamell R. O’Neal, 42, pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl, as well as felony possession of a handgun.
According to the Department of Justice, O’Neal engaged in illegal drug trafficking in the Wilkes-Barre area between September 2023 and February 2024, culminating in his arrest on February 7, 2024.
Agents claim they spotted O’Neal and a co-conspirator conducting hand-to-hand narcotics transactions on the streets of Wilkes-Barre on September 20 and 22, 2023.
Law enforcement stated they seized a “trafficking” amount of crack cocaine, fentanyl, and crystal methamphetamine, as well as a loaded revolver.
O’Neal was sentenced to 188 months in prison and five years of supervised release.
