Man detained for pot possession in SWAT raid at Miami smoke shop caught on video

One man was detained in a SWAT raid at a Miami smoke store that was captured on film Wednesday night, according to police. Authorities claim to have discovered thousands of grams of marijuana there.

According to Miami police, video shared on Only in Dade shows an undercover team serving a narcotics-related warrant at the smoke shop on North Miami Avenue and Northeast 32nd Street.

At 5:41 p.m., a SWAT squad arrived at the store and apprehended 31-year-old Joshua Rodriguez, who was “located in the front store area.”

The video also shows a child standing behind Rodriguez, holding their hands up before cops escort them out.

Police claimed to have searched the shop and found 2,590 grams of marijuana in various locations, including hundreds of red pill bottles. They also allegedly discovered pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, THC pen cartridges, parcels, and clear bags suspected of containing marijuana.

Rodriguez was also caught with $908 on him, and further cash was discovered in the store.

He has been charged with cannabis possession with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in exchange for THC oil.

Rodriguez has already paid his bond.
