Authorities say a 27-year-old man is behind a string of armed robberies targeting Miami-Dade dollar stores.
Rabergens Collot was arrested Monday and faces three counts of armed robbery, along with one count each of attempted armed robbery and armed burglary, according to arrest reports. The incidents took place earlier this month across several Miami-Dade locations.
Aug. 3 — Family Dollar, North Miami
Collot, dressed in all black with a mask, backpack, and a black hat featuring a yellow Ferrari logo, entered the store at 55 Northwest 119th Street. He picked up items, approached a clerk, and said:
“Do as I say, you have a family. Put all the money from the register in the bag. I have a gun.”
He then pulled a gun from his waistband and began counting down. The clerk handed over $295 in cash.
Aug. 4 — Dollar Tree, Miami (Attempted Robbery)
Around closing time, an employee was locking up at 11651 Northwest 27th Avenue when Collot allegedly approached with a gun, demanding store keys, her phone, and entry. She refused and shouted for help. A second employee returned, saw the suspect aiming at the first worker, and drew her own firearm, firing at Collot as he fled.
Aug. 6 — Dollar Tree, Miami
Surveillance footage showed Collot hiding inside the 10801 Biscayne Boulevard store the night before. He stayed until morning, confronting three employees at gunpoint and forcing them to open the safe. He escaped with $795.
Aug. 10 — Family Dollar, North Miami
Collot, wearing the same black Ferrari-logo hat, entered the store at 282 Northeast 135th Street as it opened. After telling the clerk, “I’m not going to hurt you, trust me,” he took $159 from the register. He then waited for the five-minute time delay on the safe before stealing another $726, bringing the total to $885.
Investigators linked Collot to multiple Miami-Dade and Broward robberies with the same clothing and method. When arrested on Monday, he was wearing the same outfit from the Aug. 10 robbery.
Records show Collot was booked into jail and is expected to appear in bond court Tuesday.
