Man Arrested For Molesting 12-year-old Girl On Multiple Occasions In Southeast Idaho: Police Say

A 29-year-old man was recently arrested for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old girl.

Bradley Jaxom Jorgensen of Murray, Utah, was charged with three counts of indecent conduct during a Pocatello police investigation that began in July, according to police and court records obtained by the Idaho State Journal.

The inquiry began on July 8 when the child’s mother reported Jorgensen inappropriately touching the girl on two different occasions on July 7 and 8, according to police.

According to sources, the first event occurred inside a Pocatello residence, while the second occurred while paddleboarding at a nearby reservoir.

According to investigators, the child recounted similar instances occurring many times about four years ago while she lived in Utah.

The girl engaged in a forensic interview at a local child advocate center on July 9, during which she confessed the abuse again, the report states.

Police added that during the inquiry, they gathered evidence such as clothing and DNA samples.

According to the report, investigators staged text message discussions between the youngster and Jorgensen, who admitted to inappropriate touching both during the paddleboarding excursion and at the Pocatello apartment.

Jorgensen indicated in the text conversations that he “was being weak by not restraining myself” and apologized for his acts, describing them as a “sexual act that should have never been made,” according to police.

On August 26, the matter was forwarded to the Bannock County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration. Charges and a warrant for his arrest were issued on October 1, according to court records.

Jorgensen was detained by Utah police and extradited to the Bannock County Jail on October 22.

On October 23, he appeared before 6th District Magistrate Judge Adam Strong for an arraignment hearing, during which his bond was set at $400,000.

Jorgensen is set to appear in court again on November 5 for a preliminary hearing. Prosecutors will aim to show enough evidence to move the case from magistrate to district court for trial.

If convicted of any of the three felony indecent conduct charges, Jorgensen faces up to life in prison and a $50,000 fine.
