A local resident won $1 million from a scratch-off ticket purchased at a RaceTrac in Lake County.
An anonymous individual purchased the winning ticket from RaceTrac, which is located at 404 U.S. Highway 27 in Minneola. The winner claimed the prize on October 7 and chose to accept a $606,700 payout.
Although the winner’s city of residence is listed as Groveland, his or her identity is exempt from publicity under Florida Statute 24.1051, which exempts the names of lottery winners who claim prizes “of $250,000 or greater” from public disclosure for 90 days.
After 90 days, winners’ names are no longer exempt.
The $1 million prize is one of four top prizes offered by the Break The Bank scratch-off game. The odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 3.94.
The odds of winning the $1 million grand prize are one in 3,571,830.
The Florida Lottery launched the Break The Bank scratch-off series in late September. According to the organization, two of the four grand prizes remain.
The scratch-off is one of several winning lottery tickets sold in Lake County recently that have resulted in huge payouts.
