Kissimmee Sisters Arrested for $2,500 Grand Theft at Davenport Target

Two sisters from Kissimmee are facing felony charges after allegedly stealing nearly $2,500 worth of merchandise from the Target store in Posner Park, Davenport. The incident took place around 8:45 p.m. on November 4 when a Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a theft report.

Target security had already detained the suspects, identified as 32-year-old Hala Kamel and 19-year-old Afnane Kamel. According to store security, the pair attempted to leave the store without paying for various items, including bedding, home decorations, clothing, and makeup, totaling $2,487.70.

Sheriff Grady Judd commented on the incident, stating, “When you walk into a store and try to leave with nearly $2,500 worth of unpaid merchandise, that’s not a mistake—that’s a crime.” Thanks to a vigilant store associate, deputies were able to respond quickly and make the arrests.

Following the investigation, both women were taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center, where they were charged with Grand Theft and Conspiracy to Commit Grand Theft.
