Kentucky Forecast: 0.5″ of rain possible Monday-Tuesday, cold front midweek

Dense fog and rain are anticipated to begin the week in western Kentucky, with cooler, drier air arriving just in time for Thanksgiving, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Meteorologists warn that dense fog may impair visibility Monday morning before a steady rain develops in the afternoon. Showers are predicted to continue throughout Tuesday morning, with rainfall amounts ranging from 0.25 to 0.5 inches across much of the region.

After the rain clears, a strong cold front will bring cooler, breezier weather midweek. Highs will fall into the 40s by Wednesday, with Thanksgiving Day temperatures ranging from the low 40s to near 50° under largely sunny skies.

“More dense fog is possible Monday morning, followed by a period of rain Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning,” according to the National Weather Service. “Colder and drier air returns for Thanksgiving, with additional rain chances holding off until the weekend.”

Travelers departing early in the week should prepare for foggy conditions and wet roads, while those celebrating the holiday may expect brisk but bright weather.
