Authorities in Kern County are searching for an inmate who escaped from Sheriff’s Office custody late Saturday night.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said the inmate broke free around 11 p.m. while being transported for an appointment. Deputies launched a search immediately, but the inmate remains at large as of Sunday.
KCSO has not released the inmate’s name, description, or details of the escape location, citing an active investigation.
However, video circulating on social media appears to show a man in an orange jumpsuit and white shoes running through the Kern Medical parking lot. The footage shows him falling briefly before getting up and fleeing, with a female deputy chasing him.
Authorities are urging the public to remain alert, though no additional details have been provided.
