Indiana Man Taken Into Custody After Allegedly Sending Intimate Videos Of Ex-girlfriend To Friends

An Indiana man was arrested after reportedly sending videos of his ex-girlfriend to her friends.

According to WXIN, citing court documents, 40-year-old Patrick Rubeck of Indianapolis was arrested Monday on an outstanding warrant issued by officials in Carmel, Indiana. According to the claim, Rubeck was pulled over about midnight, when investigators allegedly discovered a handgun and drugs in his BMW.

According to WXIN, Rubeck was charged with felony theft in 2003, and his ex-girlfriend obtained an active protective order against him, preventing him from carrying a firearm. He pleaded guilty to a lesser misdemeanor conversion charge in the 2003 theft case, according to the newspaper.

According to court documents, Rubeck’s ex-girlfriend contacted law authorities in April after discovering an Instagram account using her identity that was sending intimate videos and images to her friends, according to WXIN.

The source claims that Rubeck set up concealed equipment around the house during their eight-month relationship to record the recordings. The victim told investigators that she had not granted Rubeck permission to record or share the recordings and that she was unaware she was being recorded throughout the acts that occurred between them.

According to authorities, Rubeck attempted to disguise his tracks by tying his Instagram account to an email address associated with the victim. However, authorities were able to trace the account’s IP address back to Rubeck’s condo. Speaking with authorities, the woman identified Rubeck and confirmed that they took the tapes inside his bedroom.

WXIN reports that authorities searched Rubeck’s residence after obtaining a warrant.

Court documents acquired by WXIN show that detectives discovered the following items inside a suitcase in Rubeck’s closet:

  • A burner phone
  • A door lock pick kit
  • A device for listening through walls
  • A pair of night vision binoculars
  • A large knife
  • Tire spikes
  • Air tags
  • Foot booties
  • Fake police badges
  • A flashlight
  • Military fatigues
  • Ballistic vest

According to the publication, officials discovered a guidebook for a wall plug-in block for a hidden camera, as well as a GoPro in the bathroom. During the search, officials discovered digital files kept on the suspect’s iCloud account, according to WXIN, citing court documents that apparently indicate hidden recordings of the victim, who “didn’t appear aware of the camera,” among the files.

According to the article, a video of another lady cleaning Rubeck’s shower in her underwear was also discovered.

On October 16, Rubeck was arrested and charged with the following, according to WXIN:

  • Voyeurism (multiple counts)
  • Invasion of privacy (multiple counts)
  • A felony count related to sharing images to others online
