A Hudson, Florida, man with a long record of drug-related and violent offenses has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for trafficking illegal narcotics and illegally possessing firearms.

Darius Lavon Williams, 40, received the sentence after being convicted of possessing fentanyl and cocaine with intent to distribute, possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The investigation began when deputies from the Pasco Sheriff’s Office stopped Williams during a traffic stop. A search of his vehicle uncovered a significant amount of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and multiple firearms, reinforcing the severity of the charges.

Deputies seized the following items from Williams’s vehicle:

  • Two firearms

  • About two ounces of cocaine

  • About one ounce of fentanyl

  • More than two ounces of cocaine base (crack cocaine)

  • Marijuana

  • THC wax

  • Psilocybin gummies

  • A digital scale

Williams’s extensive criminal history was a major factor in his prosecution and sentencing. His prior convictions include aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, felon in possession of a firearm, and eight previous convictions for selling cocaine.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) jointly investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney David P. Sullivan prosecuted Williams, resulting in the lengthy federal sentence.
