The Houston Police Department has arrested a second suspect in connection with last year’s fatal shooting on Bellfort Avenue.
The suspect, Osirus Chandler, 26, faces murder charges for his alleged role in the death of 22-year-old Nicholas Batiste.
According to the City of Houston News, Batiste was discovered lifeless with multiple gunshot wounds early on May 22, 2024.
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased on the scene.
Chandler was arrested on an unrelated crime last Friday and later charged with murder in connection with Batiste’s death, according to Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective V. Nguyen from the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division.
Sean Donte Bullard, also 26, had already been charged with murder in the same case. In February, the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force and the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office apprehended him in Tyler County, Texas. Chandler is now being held at the Harris County Jail, and his case has been assigned to the 185th State District Court. Bullard’s case is pending in the 228th State District Court.
