An alleged robbery suspect was found dead inside a Granada Hills home Tuesday following an hours-long standoff with police.
The Los Angeles Police Department said plainclothes officers were pursuing the suspect in the 15600 block of Celtic Street when the individual barricaded themselves inside the residence. A SWAT team responded, arriving in several armored BearCats, while SkyCal provided aerial support and deployed gas through a window.
Officers entered the home hours later and discovered the suspect deceased. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s identity or the cause of death but confirmed that the individual was not shot by police.
Details regarding the robbery that prompted the pursuit have not been disclosed.
