A man wanted by authorities in Montgomery County, Texas, was detained Oct. 3 in Frenchtown Township, Michigan.
According to a press statement from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, VIPER detectives received a tip about a wanted fugitive from a task team in Texas. The statement indicates that authorities are searching for a 58-year-old Monroe County resident who allegedly sent child sexual abuse materials to an undercover detective.
The Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable’s Office Task Force acquired an arrest warrant for the man and requested full extradition to Texas.
VIPER detectives executed the search warrant on October 3 and arrested the suspect. Following a search of the man’s home, multiple things were confiscated, which the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office believes contain child sexual assault evidence.
The suspect was tekan to the Monroe County Jail for extradition to Texas.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has not released the suspect’s name at this time.
