A fraudulent boat builder has been taken into custody again in Central Florida for scamming customers.
Jeffrey Love, 56, a fraudulent boat builder from Deltona, was arrested again on charges of fraud and grand theft after scamming five customers out of more than $200,000, according to local enforcement.
A nine-month investigation by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office revealed similar claims from all five victims: they engaged Love to construct them a custom airboat, paid him thousands of dollars, and received nothing except excuses and stall tactics.
Love was already serving felony probation from a previous arrest for a very identical scam.
In addition to the new allegations of grand theft and organized plot to deceive, Love was charged with violating probation and driving with a suspended license.
He was brought to the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond, and the investigation is still ongoing in order to recover as much of the victims’ money as possible.
