A former Orange County Sheriff’s deputy pleaded guilty Wednesday and was immediately sentenced to time served and one year of informal probation for molesting two female jail inmates and showing them illicit videos of himself.
Arcadio Rodriguez, 33, of Stanton, engaged in an “inappropriate relationship” with two jailed women at the Theo Lacy Facility in Orange, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Orange County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Herrera sentenced Rodriguez to 364 days in jail, but he received credit for that time under home confinement. Herrera also ordered him to register as a sex offender for at least 10 years, court records show.
Rodriguez pleaded guilty to touching an intimate part of another person, a jail employee engaging in sexual activity with an inmate, and possession of a cellphone in jail—all misdemeanors. The offenses occurred on May 1, June 29, and August 9, according to court records.
