According to El Paso County jail records, the man who had previously been detained for recording other people without their permission at an El Paso facility for youth cheering organizations was arrested again for the same crime.
According to jail records, Christopher Sotelo was charged with five more charges of invasive recording on Wednesday, October 1, and was placed into the El Paso County Jail on Thursday, October 2, under a total cash or surety bond of $185,000.
A former cheerleader coach with the Texas Bandits All-Stars cheerleading club was arrested in August and charged with two counts of invasive video filming.
The owners of the Texas Bandits All-Stars cheerleading company stated that Sotelo was originally hired by them but was sacked following the event.
Court documents state that gym personnel discovered two recording devices in the restrooms.
One of the devices was similar to a smartphone, while the other looked like a pen.
The gym proprietors took the materials to the police, where they discovered two video recordings on the pen device.
According to court filings, the recordings showed both owners entering, using, and exiting the bathroom at various times.
Both proprietors stated authorities they were unaware they were being recorded and that there were no recording devices in the restroom.
