Florida Woman Won $1 Million Lottery Scratch-off Prize

The Florida Lottery announced that an Ocala woman has won $1 million in the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR Scratch-Off game. Jennifer Hatchett, 47, elected to receive her prize in a single, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

Hatchett bought her winning ticket at Medical Food Mart, situated at 2534 S.E. 17th Street in Ocala. She collected her winnings on May 8 at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.

The $50 game gives players the chance to win one of two top prizes worth $1 million per year for the rest of their lives or one of 234 $1 million prizes. The entire cash prize for the game is more than $1.6 billion, and the overall odds of winning are one in every 4.50.

The Florida Lottery has contributed more than $49 billion to education and sent more than one million students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

The Florida Lottery reinvests 99 percent of its money back into the state’s economy through prize payouts, commissions to over 13,550 Lottery merchants, and educational transfers.
